Preparation & Baking time: 60 mins
INGREDIENTS |
Apple Tart Crust:
- 100g almond butter
- 30gr kamut flour
- 1 egg
- 1 pinch of salt
- 75ml almond drink
Apple Tart Filling:
- 6 gala apples (cut 2 into slices – deco)
- 1 “thumb” size of ginger root
- ½ tablespoon cinnamon
- 1 teaspoon of cardamom
- 1 tablespoon cane molasses
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 tablespoon almonds to decorate
PREPARATION |
For the crust:
1 Wisk the egg first, add the almond drink and salt.
2 Apart, mix the butter and kamut flour with your hands. Combine both mixes until you get a malleable dough. Stretch over the pie tin and shape with your fingers and a spoon. Oven for 15-20 min at 180ºC
For the filling:
3 Meanwhile, cook the 4 apples and ginger root (I used the peel of the apples to get ore nutrients, just wash them very well before cooking).
4 When fully cooked, use a hand blender to obtain a puree; add 1 spoonful of molasses, the cinnamon, cardamom and vanilla extract.
5 Pour onto the baked crust and decorate the pie with the apple slices. Oven for another 20-30 minutes at 160ºC.
TIP | Deco with sliced apples and crushed almonds. I love how you can twsit this recipe using seasonal fruits, minimizing any waste when you have plenty of fruit around the house without knowing what to do.
